Why I’m Excited for Walmart+ Week Happening Later This Month

To very loosely paraphrase a famed Dos Equis ad campaign, I don’t always use Walmart+, but when I do, I enjoy it. For context, my Walmart+ membership is thanks to my Amex Platinum Card, which covers the monthly cost. While I enjoy the Scan & Go feature it offers and appreciate the complimentary Paramount+ subscription, I find that I don’t end up using the core benefits of the service all that often. Despite this, though, I found myself getting quite excited for Walmart+ Week — which is happening from April 28th through May 4th. So what has me so hyped?

First, perhaps the easiest offer to take advantage of is one involving the Scan & Go feature that’s exclusive to Walmart+. When customers use the tool and spend at least $15 in-store during Walmart+ Week, they’ll earn $5 Walmart Cash. That’s basically free money in my book.

Another deal I’m looking forward to is the six free months of Paramount+ with SHOWTIME. Funny enough, since my TV club is currently watching Yellowjackets, I recently upgraded from the included Paramount+ Essentials plan to the one that offers SHOWTIME. Momentarily, I was worried this might mean I’d miss out on the six free month deal — but it looks as though my current billing cycle will end just in time for me to (hopefully) activate my offer.

Even better, when customers redeem two or more Walmart+ Week offers, they’ll get another bonus! Specifically, they’ll earn $10 Walmart Cash. That means that, at the least, I’m saving at least $25 ($15 in Walmart Cash and $10 in savings from not having to pay for two months of SHOWTIME) from this promotion.

As for the other offers, while I may not be as excited about them, I still think they’re worth mentioning. One that I’m sure will be popular among other people that aren’t me is 50¢ off per gallon at Exxon/Mobil during Walmart+ Week. Why doesn’t this one appeal to me? Well, unfortunately, neither station is really in my area.

Another offer will allow members to get up to two free BK items each day during the promotion. Customers can claim one Croissan’wich and/or Whopper Jr. per day with any purchases of $1 or more — just order using the BK app or site.

Finally, Walmart+ members can get one free Express Delivery during Walmart+ Week. With this option, they’ll be able to have items delivered from their local stores in as little as one hour. I actually had a chance to try this service during a similar promotion and it worked pretty well. Still, even if the delivery itself is free, the tip factor might not make this worth it.

Now, before you go signing up for Walmart+ just to take advantage of these deals, be advised that some of the offers do have restrictions on them, such as how new you can be to the program and still use it. But, if you’re already a Walmart+ member, you’ll definitely want to mark your calendar and make the most of Walmart+ Week from April 28th to May 4th.
