Mastercard Customers Can Now Save on Peacock Subscriptions

Mastercard has announced some new perks for cardholders. Thanks to partnerships with NBCUniversal and Instacart, cardholders can now save on Peacock subscriptions, Instacart+, and more.

Starting with Peacock, this is the first time that Mastercard has offered a streaming service deal. Now, those with either a World Mastercard or World Elite Mastercard can earn a $3 per month statement credit on a monthly Peacock Premium plan. World Elite customers also have the option to upgrade to a monthly Peacock Premium Plus — AKA the no-ads plan — to earn a $5 per month statement credit.

Unfortunately, this offer does state that it “excludes current Peacock Premium and Premium Plus subscribers.” Then again, it doesn’t say anything about returning customers. Thus, if you currently have a monthly plan for Peacock and want to take advantage of this deal, in theory, you could cancel and then restart your subscription — although I’ve obviously not tested this for myself. Also, to be eligible, the monthly plan can’t be discounted. So, if there’s another deal going on, you may want to decide which option is best. Finally, this offer is currently set to expire on March 31st, 2025.

Another interesting note in the press release is that “Mastercard cardholders will have access to Priceless Experiences, such as NBCUniversal’s iconic parks and studios across the country, BravoCon, and much more.” The part that caught my attention there is “NBCUniversal’s iconic parks.” Why? Well, earlier this week, Universal Destinations & Experiences (which includes Universal Studios) announced a new partnership with Visa. This comes as part of plans to launch a Universal Studios co-branded card with FNBO, which will operate on the Visa network. Therefore, it seems a bit weird that NBCUniversal would be making deals with both Visa and Mastercard at the same time… but I digress.

Meanwhile, in addition to this new Peacock deal, Mastercard has also announced offers for Instacart. Now, eligible World Mastercard and World Elite Mastercard cardholders who are new to Instacart+ can get a two-month free trial. What’s more, these customers can also earn $10 off their second eligible Instacart purchase each month. Although Mastercard has previously partnered with Instacart, I believe the structure of this particular deal is new. This offer is also currently set to expire on March 31st, 2025.

As a reminder, these new perks come in addition to anything your specific Mastercard already offers. Therefore, if they apply to you, there’s no reason not to give these deals a shot. All in all, if you want to spend the night staying in, watching Peacock, and ordering groceries, then I guess your Mastercard might have you covered.
