More Money-Saving Streaming Bundles and Deals are Popping Up

For those trying to balance their streaming entertainment budget, the past week has brought some new deals and bundles that might help you out.

First, Verizon has introduced another streaming bundle option that customers can add to their account. Now, for $10 a month, users can gain access to both Netflix and Max. As you’d expect at that price, these are both the ad-supported tiers. So, with Netflix normally costing $6.99 a month for this option and Max coming at a cost of $9.99 per month, the bundle option would save you $6.98 a month. Given that math, if you’re already an ad-supported Max subscriber or someone who has both Max and Netflix, this Verizon add-on could make sense and save you money.

Elsewhere, Disney+ is currently offering a number of what they call Disney+ Perks. These Perks run the gamut from dumb digital bonuses or the “privilege” to buy more merch to actual money-saving benefits. For example, one deal that was unveiled earlier this week is that Disney+ subscribers can currently save $40 on an annual Walmart+ subscription. Note that this is only valid on the yearly option, so basically you’ll pay $58 for the year versus the $98 regular price. Also, this is deal is only available through January 31st, 2024.

What’s funny to me about this particular deal is that, among the features of Walmart+, is a subscription to Paramount+. So, whether intentional or not, your Disney+ subscription can now get you a discount on Paramount+. Hilarious.

In any case, Walmart+ does have other benefits as well. For example, members can save 10¢ per gallon at Exxon, Mobil, Walmart, and Murphy gas stations, enjoy free delivery (on orders over $35) or shipping (on any size order), and more. You’ll also have access to Walmart Scan & Go — which is similar to the Sam’s Club feature I love so much, but is different in that it still makes you visit a self-checkout kiosk before departing. That said I have noticed some Walmart+ express self-checkout lanes in store, so this benefit actually could help you save time, especially this holiday season.

While streaming prices continue to rise and trying to “collect them all” is certainly impacting the wallets of many Americans, at least there are now some ways to save on them. As I mentioned with the Verizon deal, if you already subscribed to both Netflix and Max, then this $6+ per month savings is nice. Meanwhile, with the Disney+ deal, the value of Walmart+ is a bit more hit or miss. Still, if you think you can benefit from the service, being able to knock 40% off the price for a year is a win as well.
