LGA Sapphire Lounge

Two Chase Sapphire Lounges are Opening This Month

Chase’s branded lounge network is growing! Not only did the latest Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club open up in New York this week but yet another is also set to open next week in, uh, New York. To be clear, the LaGuardia (LGA) location is now open while a new location at John F.Kennedy International (JFK) will debut on January 23rd.

Starting with the LGA lounge, the location is more than 21,800 square feet, is spread across two floors, and can be found on the secure side of Terminal B. There are a few things that will make the Sapphire Lounge by the Club at LGA unique. One of the most interesting features to me is a “retro-inspired” game room, while I’m sure others will be drawn to the wellness room that will offer a variety of facial treatments. The location will also apparently boast artworks curated by the JPMorgan Chase Art Collection.

But perhaps the most intriguing part of the LGA lounge are the “Reserve Suites by Chase.” These private, bookable suites will include a dedicated suite attendant, a signature caviar service, a curated wine list, and more. According to The Points Guy, the smaller suite costs a whopping $2,200 for just a three-hour stay while the large suites fetch and an even more eye-watering $3,000 for three hours.

As for the JFK location, it will actually occupy a spot previously run by Etihad Airways. In fact, the location will be a joint effort, resulting in the wordy official name Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with Etihad Airways. The lounge itself will be found in Terminal 4 above Gate A2 and, as I mentioned, will officially open on January 23rd.

As a reminder, you don’t actually have to be a Chase Sapphire Reserve customer in order to access a Sapphire Lounge. However, Priority Pass members that aren’t CSR card members can only get one complimentary entry to a Sapphire Lounge by The Club location per calendar year. Of course, if you do have the Chase Sapphire Reserve (or the  J.P. Morgan Reserve or The Ritz-Carlton Card) you can enjoy complimentary access.

I have to say, the LGA Sapphire Lounge by the Club location sounds like quite the experience. While I sure as heck am not going to pay $3,000 to check out their private lounges, the main club sounds pretty nice. Plus, as an American Express Platinum card member I also have a Priority Pass Select — this sounds like the one to visit with my once-annual complimentary visit. So, should my travels take me to/through New York any time soon, I’ll absolutely plan on stopping by.

I'm 40 and Finally Figured Out How to Properly Shave My Face
For a good portion of my mid to late 20s, I made my living pretending to be in high school for television. As it turns out, part of the reason why I could pass for younger is that I can't grow a beard to save my life. Unfortunately, this lack of growth also means that,...
