Daily Drop: Why This Travel Newsletter is Required Reading

To some, the concept of an email newsletter may sound antiquated in 2025. After all, it’s not as though there’s a lack of content across social media and the Internet at large. Yet, in recent years, I’ve found that I actually love daily newsletters — at least when they’re done right. In the past, I’ve talked about my enjoyment of the informational yet pithy stylings of Morning Brew, but I’m also a regular consumer of newsletters from Axios, Reliable Sources, and more. Most recently, though, it’s a points and miles newsletter that’s often the first one I go to open each morning: Daily Drop.

I first learned about Daily Drop at FinCon in Atlanta and quickly signed up. When I began reading the daily missives, I could see elements from some of the aforementioned newsletters that I enjoyed — but with a focus on travel, credit card points, etc.

What I love about newsletters in general and Daily Drop specifically is that they’re able to mix evergreen content with the latest news and happenings. This is key when it comes to rewards credit cards as there’s almost always a new offer to discuss — but, given the ephemeral nature of these deals, it may not make sense to write a whole article on them. Instead, they get beamed right into my inbox alongside tips and tricks that can come in handy anytime.

One particular feature of Daily Drop I’m enjoying is a new one where they ask readers to send in their award travel redemptions. This can result in them being roasted… or breaking down all of the ways that they managed to find success. Although some of these examples might not be perfectly replicable on any given day as they often involve limited-time bonuses and the like, it’s super interesting to see all of the possibilities out there.

On that note, even beyond those reader recaps, I appreciate that the newsletter always includes plenty of real-world examples, complete with screenshots. While there are plenty of theories of what might work, it’s really cool to see these ideas put into action.

Even though I’m not a hardcore travel hacker, I am now sitting on a sizeable number of American Express Membership Rewards points I’d love to redeem in epic fashion one day. That’s why I love learning about different strategies, new tools, and oh so many destinations that can be reached with points and miles. Plus, even if I don’t end up replicating one of the redemptions featured in Daily Drop, I always find the process fascinating.

All of this is to say that, if you have any interest in credit card rewards and traveling with points/miles, I think you’ll enjoy reading Daily Drop. Plus, it’s absolutely free (I probably should have led with that, huh?). So, please take my recommendation and join the Daily Drop newsletter 🙂
