Disney+ Fans — These American Express Cards are For You

In 2025, there is certainly no shortage of streaming services to choose from. And while I have subscriptions to a few, speaking as a Disney fan, my favorite has to be Disney+ (coupled with Hulu). Of course, with the costs of these services adding up, it’s always nice when you can claim a discounted or even free subscription. Well, that’s exactly what you can enjoy with the Blue Cash Everyday and Blue Cash Preferred cards as Amex just improved the Disney+ credit for both options.

Now, those with the Blue Cash Preferred card can get up to $120 per year ($10 per month) toward their Disney+ or Disney Bundle subscription. Previously, this credit was for $7 a month, but required that you spend at least $9.99 a month in order to earn that statement credit. This means that you can now get a Disney+ Basic subscription completely covered by the card or pay just 99 cents per month for the Disney+ Hulu Bundle Basic plan.

It should also be noted that, when maxed out, this $120 in credits exceeds the Blue Cash Preferred’s $95 annual fee — which is also waived for the first year. Plus, you’ll also earn 6% back on streaming services purchases as well as 6% back on groceries (up to $6,000 in spending per year), 3% on transit, 3% on gas, and 1% on everything else.

Meanwhile, the no-annual-fee Blue Cash Everyday card is also updating its Disney+ credit. Although the credit will still be for up to $7 per month, the $9.99 spending requirement has been removed. This means that those eligible for discounted plans, such as the Hulu Student Deal at $1.99 per month, can now have their purchase covered. Alas, most other plans will cost $9.99 or more a month anyway, but it’s still a nice update for select customers.

By the way, if you’re in the market for a more premium card, there’s also the American Express Platinum card, which also features a Disney+ credit. Actually, the card’s Digital Entertainment Credit is for up to $20 a month toward any of the Disney Bundle services, Peacock, The Wall Street Journal, or New York Times subscription. Personally, I use this $20 per month on a Disney+ Hulu no-ads plan, which I love. That said, this $240 per year in credits will only put you part of the way towards making up for the Platinum card’s current $695 annual fee.

Ultimately, these Disney Bundle credits may not be a top reason to get either the American Express Blue Cash Everyday or Blue Cash Preferred cards, but these are nice perks that Amex has surprisingly made even better. So, if you are considering a new rewards credit card and could make use of a Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ credit, then perhaps it’s time to put these Blue Cash cards on your radar.
