Our Firsthand Experience with Verizon Shine (So Far)

Back in June, Verizon launched a new program with the punny moniker “Verizon Shine.” Somewhat similar to the popular T-Mobile Tuesdays, Verizon Shine features a variety of special offers from partner brands — except that these come in the form of daily drops instead of weekly. And while the telecom came out of the gate pretty strong with some big offers, the question remains – have we been able to benefit from the program lately?

Well, the short answer is “yes.” In the last month, we’ve been able to make use of a couple of offers… both of which happen to involve pizza. In fact, as I write this, we’ve just consumed half of the free large, 1-topping pizza we got from Marco’s via a Verizon Shine deal. All my wife had to do was claim the offer in the Verizon app and follow the instructions to apply the coupon to her online Marco’s order. It also helps that we had a few days to use said coupon, allowing us to enjoy a Pizza Friday rather than rushing to the store at the same time as a bunch of other Verizon customers likely were.

So how do these Verizon Shine deals work? From what my wife tells me, at the start of the week, you can view all of the offers that will be available in the coming days. Then, the offers unlock at noon Pacific each day. As you can imagine, some deals are better and, thus, more popular than others and can sell out quickly. Meanwhile, in some cases, you may have far more time to claim a deal, even if you aren’t on the app right at launch time. For example, while we struck out trying to get Starbucks gift cards, free NFL Sunday Ticket, and a credit for Baublebar, we had no problem getting a discounted Little Caesar’s pizza hours later.

I should also mention that, alongside Verizon Shine, the carrier introduced its Verizon Dollars program. Now, customers earn 3% of their bill back in Verizon dollars each month. For us, that amounts to just over $12 since July. These Dollars can then be redeemed for gift cards and some other things — although you can’t use it toward future bills unless you’re a Verizon Visa customer.

Of course, while the Verizon Shine program seems to be pretty attractive now, there’s no saying how long that will last. Moreover, I wouldn’t say that it’s worth switching to Verizon just to try to take advantage of this program. But if you’re already a Verizon customer, I would get into the habit of checking this section of the app each Monday and setting a plan to try to snag any deals you’ll want the rest of the week. You never know — you could end up with free pizza like us!

How My Hotel Minibar Actually Just Saved Me Money
This week, I've been in Palm Springs for FinCon 2026.
