The Internet is Going Wild for This Lucrative Offer from Paze

You may not have heard of Paze — but there’s a good reason why you’ll want to familiarize yourself with it now.

This week, the digital wallet (which comes from the same company behind Zelle) launched an offer that could be worth $100 or more. Currently, when customers use Paze to pay at qualifying online retailers and make purchases of at least $10, they can earn $10 back via a statement credit. Even better, this can be done up to 10 times. And that’s not all because, if you have multiple eligible cards, then that’s 10 times per card!

Paze partners with a variety of popular banks, including Bank of America, Capital One, Wells Fargo, Chase, Citi, PNC, U.S. Bank, and more. In other words, odds are that you have a debit or credit card that works. In my case, both my Capital One Venture Card and Wells Fargo debit card popped up when I logged in to Paze.

Of course, with this deal, Paze is hoping that you’ll buy something that’s worth significantly more than $10 and will simply appreciate the rebate. But, for credit card reward enthusiasts like me, that’s simply not enough. So, as soon as I saw this offer, I immediately started looking for the best ways to use it, Unfortunately, given the generosity of this offer, some retailers are already making changes and disallowing certain options. And wouldn’t you know it, the first two ways that I used this credit are among those that have been killed off.

My first purchase was a $10 Dunkin’ gift card reload, which I did in their app (after discovering that Paze wasn’t an option to purchase a digital gift card on the site). After that, I headed to Newegg and found a $10 Chipotle gift card. Once. again, I was able to use Paze in order to claim the credit. I will note that I was surprised by how long it took my digital gift card to arrive — but maybe that had something to do with what happened next.

According to Doctor of Credit, which has been diligently monitoring these developments, both of these options have now been shut off as Paze is not an option for third-party gift cards on Newegg, nor can you use it to reload your Dunkin’ account. However, Paze should still be an option for “regular” purchases from both brands.

The good news is that there are still plenty of good options here — as in uses where you can probably get close to spending just the $10 minimum. For example, Domino’s usually has some good deals and some lower-priced options, meaning you could likely spend less than $15 for a meal or two and get the $10 back. Ditto other restaurants like Dunkin’, Wendy’s, Whataburger, etc. Meanwhile, I doubt someone will be spending just $10 at United, but if you are booking a flight, a $10 rebate isn’t bad.

By the way, what’s nice is that, when you are checking out of an eligible retailer, a little green pop-up noting the deal will display (as seen in the featured image). This brought me great comfort when I was making my purchases. Thus, even though I have yet to receive my statement credits, I’m confident those will come through.

Ultimately, even if the gift card options were quickly ruled out, this is still an awesome deal. With that, while the offer is currently valid through September 10th, there is always a chance it gets pulled early. So, you may want to check it out sooner rather than later — and look for that green pop-up when you do.

How Utilization Impacts Your Credit Scores: My Real-Life Example
You may already know that Credit Utilization is the second-largest factor FICO considers when determining your credit score. Specifically, it makes up 30% of your score, topped only by Payment History at 35%. But what does that look like in practice? Well, I recently got the "opportunity" to see firsthand.
