Black Friday Deals 2024: Offers on Products I’ve Reviewed
Last week, I looked at some of the Black Friday sales that were already underway for various products I’ve reviewed over the years. Well, while several of those deals are still in place, others have joined the party. So, with that, here are some of the discounts, special offers, and other deals available in a variety of categories.
Shoes and Apparel
Allbirds
- Current Deal: Up to 50% off
- Regular Price: $145 for Wool Runner-Up Mizzles
As I’ve shared many times before, Allbirds Runner-Up Mizzles are my go-to travel shoe. That’s because they are not only comfortable and stylish but are also water resistant, which has been a lifesaver in both rain and snow.
On the topic of snow, the brand recently rolled out an even more weather-proof model called Runner-Up Protect. While I haven’t had a chance to try those out yet, the current sale prices those new models at $105. Meanwhile, the standard Runner-Up Mizzles are just $72 a pair at the moment. In my opinion, that’s quite a deal, so I’d definitely recommend checking them out.
Suavs
- Current Deal: Up to 40% off
- Regular Price: $96 for Zilkers
To be clear, when I say that Allbirds are my go-to travel shoes, I mean they’re the ones that I wear when boarding a plane or heading off on a road trip. Yet, I will also pack my Suavs Zilkers in my bag since they take up next to no room in my luggage. What I love about these shoes is their slip-on design, which makes them perfect for running quick errands while traveling. Also, although plenty of shoes advertise that they can be worn without socks, these are also the only ones I feel comfortable actually doing this with.
Suavs’ Black Friday sale has been going on for more than a week, offering “up to 40% off.” Under this sale, some color options for the Zilkers are $76.80 while others are $62.40. You may notice that’s only 20% off, thus I have to assume that it’s other models of Suavs that have larger discounts. Nevertheless, I still do love these shoes and would recommend them overall — even if this particular sale isn’t Earth-shattering.
Jack Archer
- Current Deal: 47% off
- Regular Price: $149 for Jetsetter Tech Pant
In pants showdown article, I noted that the Jack Archer pants were among my favorites, finishing just behind the Lululemons. Ever since writing that, similar to how my Allbirds have become my go-tos, I’ve now taken plenty of flights while wearing these aptly named Jetsetter pants. Personally, I really love how comfy these pants are while looking good and offering some stain resistance. In fact, while my light-colored Lulus have taken on plenty of stains since I bought them, my Jack Archer’s still look new.
For this Black Friday sale, you can pick up a pair of Jetsetter Tech Pants for $79 each — which is not only 47% off the $149 retail price but is even cheaper than the pre-Black Friday sale. Although I don’t know how often these pants hit their list price, $79 is a good deal considering that the similar Lululemon pants would be more like $130.
Travel Accessories
Halfday
- Current Deal: 20% off
- Regular Price: $98
The Halfday Garment Duffle is a clever innovation that combines a garment bag for formal wear with a duffle bag that be used to hold additional clothes and items. In my review, I noted that, while I loved the concept, I thought it was just a bit too big. Well, they apparently listened as a smaller edition is now available. Additionally, the company has a Double Decker Weekender bag that looks equally as useful (while being significantly different from their signature bag).
Right now, Halfdays is offering 20% off their bags. This means the $98 Garment Duffle is $78.40 instead — with free shipping. If you regularly travel with a suit, dress, or other items that require garment bags, then I think Halfday offers a solid solution. Of course, if you happen to miss this sale, you can still get 20% off using our referral code.
Away
- Current Deal: 25% off
- Regular Price: $146 for The Everywhere Zip Backpack, $75 for the The Hanging Toiletry Bag
Three years ago, I purchased my Away Zip Backpack — and it’s joined me on every trip since. Then, some time later, I added the Hanging Toiletry Bag to our luggage line-up.
Should you take an interest in either, Away is offering 25% off everything right now. For example, that makes the backpack $146 and the toiletry bag $56. Obviously, those are both still pretty pricey, but I think that they are quality-made as both have held up well for us despite the regular usage.
Aeropress
- Current Deal: 25% off
- Regular Price: $50 for the AeroPress Go
As someone who loves having tasty coffee even when on the road, the Aeropress Go has been an essential part of our travels. When used in tandem with a foldable electric kettle, we’ve been able to brew our favorite coffees in basically any hotel room — which not only saves us from having to drink the drek provided but also saves us money versus going to a shop.
At this time, the Aeropress site is offering 25% off everything. This prices the Aeropress Go at $37.47. The only catch is that the same item is actually a bit cheaper on Amazon — not to mention that, if you’re a Prime member, it includes shipping unlike the Aeropress site. Because of this, while I would recommend picking up an Aeropress Go, I’d stick with Amazon for buying it.
Tech Items
Solis
- Current Deal: 30-34% off hotspots (plus additional savings with ‘MONEY30’ code)
- Regular Price: $160 for Solis Lite, $400 for Solis 5G
Ahead of Black Friday, Solis was offering 30% off their two hotspot options: the Solis Lite and the Solis 5G. But, now that the big day is actually here, the Solis Lite is even cheaper, with a 34% discount. This means that the Lite is currently $105 while the 5G model is $280. Actually, if you use my code MONEY30 at checkout, the prices fall to $99.74 and $266 — and both still come with 1 GB of global data per month for life.
I happened to pick up the Solis 5G with last year’s sale and had a chance to try it while traveling this spring. With 5G’s reach growing, I do think it may be worth paying for this premium model. But, if you’re good with 4G speeds, then the Solis Lite still works well (especially at less than $100 during this sale + promo code).
Rolling Square InCharge Cables
- Current Deal: Up to 40% off
- Regular Price: $35 for InCharge XL (6.6 ft.)
I become a fan of InCharge cables after discovering them at CES a few years back. What’s nice about them is that, whether you want a small keychain cable or a super long one, they offer singular cables that adapt to offer USB-A, Micro USB, USB-C, and Lightning connections.
Of course, now that iPhones have finally transitioned to USB-C, these may not be quite as game-changing — but if you still have a pre-iPhone 15 model, I do think that these clever cables are still incredibly useful and make traveling with all of your devices just a bit easier.
Ozlo Sleepbuds
- Current Deal: $30 off
- Regular Price: $299
Technically, I haven’t actually reviewed the Ozlo Sleepbuds. However, I have reviewed the previous iteration (the Bose Sleepbuds 2) and I absolutely love them! Apparently, when Bose decided to discontinue the product, some of the team behind the offering purchased the rights and made their own version. The Ozlo Sleepbuds also include some new features, including the ability to stream any audio to them instead of just the white noise options of the Bose version.
The only bad news is that the Ozlo Sleepbuds are even more expensive than the already-pricey Bose, retailing at $299. But, for Black Friday, you can save $30 at checkout, bringing the price down to $269 with free shipping. Honestly, I’ve been tempted to buy these just to try them out, but my Bose are still going strong and $300 is a lot to spend. That said, I will note that, since buying my Sleepbuds, I never travel without them.
Yale Smartlock
- Current Deal: Up to 60% off (most 20% off)
- Regular Price: $280 for the Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch with WiFi
When we bought our home last year, one of the first purchases we made for the house was a Yale smart lock. Although it was expensive, we’ve really enjoyed having and using it so far.
As luck would have it, you can currently save up to 60% on a similar lock. Well, actually, most of the Yale Assure Lock 2 models available are 20% off, while that 60% off is reserved for a very specific option: the Yale Assure Lock 2 Key-Free Touchscreen with Wi-Fi in Viva Magenta. Honestly, that model is quite a deal at $104 compared to $208 for a model closer to what we have. So, if you don’t mind the magenta color and the lack of a keyhole, this could be a ‘smart’ option.
Creator Tools
Envato Elements
- Current Deal: 30% off
- Regular Price: $198 per year for Individual plan
A couple of years ago, I switched from Storyblocks to Envato Elements for my stock video needs. Actually, what I like about Envato is that the membership includes video as well as music, photos, and more. Needless to say that, as a result, I get plenty of usage out of my annual subscription.
For Black Friday, Envato plans are 30% off. Instead of $198 per year, a one-year membership is now $138.60 paid upfront (monthly plans are also available but are far more expensive). In other words, one of the most affordable stock footage services is even more affordable during this special sale.
Opus Clip
- Current Deal: 50% off yearly Pro plan
- Regular Price: $348 per year
Here’s another one I haven’t reviewed… yet. That’s because I just signed up for Opus Clip during this current sale. Nevertheless, having experimented with it so far, I’ve been insanely impressed. Not only can this service turn long-form videos into sharable clips but even adds captions, titles, and writes a description of each. Plus, you can share them to social accounts straight from Opus — it’s awesome!
Right now, a Pro account is 50% off if you pay for a year upfront. With the discount, an annual plan costs $174. One downside is that this plan isn’t all-inclusive and is “credit” based. But, the included credits are pretty plentiful, so hopefully you won’t need to buy too many more beyond the base cost.
And More
Athletic Brewing
- Current Deal: 30% off your first order when you join Athletic Club
- Regular Price: Six packs range from $13.99 to $14.99 each without membership
Over the past couple of years, I’ve really been getting into non-alcoholic beers. And, as you may know, Athletic Brewing is the biggest name in the NA space. There’s good reason for that as the company makes a variety of delicious brews while also regularly rolling out new and seasonal options. They also have a subscription plan that includes a number of perks in addition to automated order placement.
Speaking of Athletic Club, their Black Friday deal involves this membership option. When you place your first order as a member during this sale, you’ll get 30% off (when you buy at least 4 six-packs). In my experience, customizing your membership to skip or delay shipments is really easy, so I wouldn’t worry too much about the “commitment” of joining — although it is something you’ll want to monitor closely if you sign up. Still, I think this deal is a good opportunity to try a variety of beers from Athletic’s line-up and decide if you want to continue your membership from there.
Go Brewing
- Current Deal: $20 back when spending $50 or more
- Regular Price: $13.99 per six-pack without membership
Lastly, while I still love Athletic, I’ve also really been enjoying Go Brewing. In particular, their Not Just Another Story Double IPA may be my favorite NA beer. I’ve also joined their brew club, which I’ll be reviewing soon.
Before I get to their Black Friday deal, I have to admit that I’m not 100% sure how you get it. I would have assumed it would be shown on their site, but I don’t see anything about it. Instead, I received an email that activated it. So, maybe join the mailing list and see if that works? If so, you’ll be able to get a $20 gift card for Go (or a Visa gift card, apparently) after spending $50 on the site. Not a bad deal… if you can get it.
That concludes this year’s round-up! Hopefully you can take advantage of at least one of these deals while they last. On that note, I suspect that most of the brands will be repeating their offers on Cyber Monday, but be sure to check for yourself. Happy shopping!
